Welcome to CYTS!
What is CYTS?
CYTS is a not-for-profit, community based, public benevolent institution and Registered Training Organisation (RTO). It provides non-judgemental support, education and accredited training. CYTS caters to the training and developmental needs of disadvantaged individuals and communities with diverse social structures, demography, economic and educational requirements. The organisation supports individuals through the development and enhancement of their educational, social, economic, health and spiritual wellbeing.
CYTS also provide mainstream community services training for those who wish to obtain qualifications for employment within this sector.
CYTS has been in existence since 1984. Traditionally, CYTS has focused on providing a holistic community based support, referral and training service for Aboriginal people, financially disadvantaged people and people with previous low academic achievement and/or English literacy skills; as well as those wishing to work in the community services sector. CYTS aims to provide individualise training and support mechanisms for people wanting accredited qualifications to commence pathways to transition into onto higher education and/or commence into workforce participation.
Due to recent, immediate cessation of future state government funding CYTS is seeking assistance to raise funds to educate the 50 students currently on the waiting list.
CYTS has serviced the most disadvantaged in the community for over 30 years and due to recent, immediate cessation of future government funding it now seeks assistance to raise funds to educate the 50 students currently on the waiting list. CYTS students are referred by a variety of government and community organisations that work with severely disadvantaged and dysfunctional youth. Students often present with an array of issues from low literacy and numeracy, learning difficulties, drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, homelessness, teenage parenting to mental and physical health issues.
